It's designed to add or maintain moisture, creating a moist wound environment to help the healing process. To protect peri-wound skin from maceration, a moisture barrier ointment or barrier film should be applied. Suggested secondary dressings depend on the amount of exudate and frequency of dressing change. This gel is amorphous, non-cytotoxic, and non-sterile.
